Rupert Senior

Being a furniture designer and craftsman, sketching and drawing makes up a large part of what I do, albeit very specific, often technical and tightly controlled. Picking up a paint brush for the first time two years ago in Rosalyn's evening class was a revelation. I wanted to 'free up'! Today I like to paint big and bold, and quickly - particularly portraits. It's a fascinating and difficult process which I find totally absorbing and a constant challenge!
